Make no mistake, cybercrime is a financial issue for nonprofits. So much so that organized crime has created “business models” to facilitate cybercrime as a growth industry. Everyone is a target, and cyberattacks are becoming more frequent, more sophisticated, and more impactful on the victim organizations.

This session will describe the cybercrime landscape, and provide insight on how nonprofits and government organizations can minimize their risks and protect the people they serve.

*There will be a hands on portion during this session, please bring your computer to participate.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify cybersecurity trends and tactics hackers are using
  • Recognize common email phishing attacks and information security weaknesses
  • Outline strategies that can be used to mitigate risks related to phishing, ransomware, and other costly data breaches
