Workshop description:

The content marketing for non-profits presentation will help organizations translate their purpose and mission into a content marketing mission statement and an editorial mission statement. The editorial mission statement will help you identify and prioritize:

  • Who you are as an organization
  • Who you are trying to reach
  • The best way to reach them
  • What you want to accomplish when you do

An organization cannot be all things to all people and neither can your content. Having a clear vision will help as we work to overcome many of the challenges faced when building an effective content marketing strategy.  Ways we will plan to clear these hurdles:

  • Document a strategy – Making it Manageable
  • Identify the Storytellers
  • Be Inspired
  • Use Technology to Your Full Advantage

Target Audience:
Nonprofit directors and marketers

Presenters' Bios:
Judy McFarland, President/CEO, Thread Marketing Group

Judy is the President/CEO of Thread Marketing Group.  Leading this organization since 1996, she is primarily responsible for the strategic focus and operational oversight of the company. By combining the disciplines of marketing communications, public relations, digital/web technology and marketing automation, Thread became the region's first hybrid agency that, today, provides integrated solutions to clients regionally and nationally. With her more than 30 years of marketing and advertising expertise, Judy is skilled in a wide variety of B2B and B2C marketing applications for medium to large corporate and non-profit accounts. She provides strategic counsel, brand and account management, and digital/web strategy to clients in the healthcare, manufacturing and education sectors primarily.

Leslie Verral, VP, Marketing/Senior Inbound Strategist

Leslie is the newest member of the Thread team, joining in 2018 as VP, Marketing/Senior Inbound Strategist.  Recognizing the value of real and honest conversations with customers is what drives her thinking.  Marketing has moved beyond “messaging” and it’s making connections that matter. As a marketing professional with 30+ years in business, she has experience with digital and traditional advertising and communications. Building strategic and integrated marketing plans for a variety of verticals including healthcare, mental health, medical devices, retail/manufacturing and financial institutions has afforded Leslie opportunities for successful growth over the years.
