Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is a community asset. The Foundation is a collection of funds established by donors interested in Philanthropy and supporting the Toledo area. Currently, the assets of the Foundation are approximately $300 million, made up of more than 800 funds. The Foundation is the largest grantmaker in the Toledo area, granting an average of $15 million a year.

The Center for Nonprofit Resources is a program of Toledo Community Foundation designed to support local nonprofits to build capacity and strengthen sustainable organizations.  Staff at The Center work interdependently with the staff at the Foundation to achieve this goal.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Center for Nonprofit Resources is a program of Toledo Community Foundation designed to support local nonprofits to build capacity and strengthen sustainable organizations.  Staff at The Center work interdependently with the staff at the Foundation to achieve this goal.

Under the direction of the Director, the Associate Director is responsible for educational program management especially in the areas of professional development, evaluation of services, and engagement with the nonprofit community. Responsibilities may include provision of direct technical assistance to nonprofit organizations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Associate Director is responsible for professional development programs provided by C4NPR along with assistance in C4NPR daily operations. Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Director, plans the annual capacity building professional development series for C4NPR.
  • Manages and executes the professional development series for C4NPR including budget, ongoing communications with speakers, event logistics, marketing, participant registration, and participant communication and evaluation. The Associate Director attends all workshops.               
  • Provides coordination and organization of C4NPR Certificate in Nonprofit Management, Certificate of Minority Executive Leadership (MEL) and Lean Six Sigma programs. Manages participant contact hours and related phone, email and print communications. Works with C4NPR on outcomes reporting. Works with C4NPR Director to organize and facilitate communication with MEL speakers and mentors. 
  • Applies annually for Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) workshop eligibility and keeps attendees up-to-date with credit tracking, troubleshooting and information. 
  • Oversees and manages the Job Center online, Nonprofit Marketplace and Consultant Databases. This includes all client communication and management of the cloud-based jobs database/marketplace and electronic consultant database. 
  • Oversees annual Compensation and Benefits survey, including participant communication and reporting of results. Administers partnership with OANO, as well as OANO’s survey provider, and maintains the local participant database. Answers any questions by local organizations seeking survey information. 
  • Supports local professional associations by attending events to network with local nonprofit staff and board members and provides information about C4NPR capacity building resources. 
  • Provides limited resource and referral services to nonprofit organizations in need of technical assistance as it relates to nonprofit capacity building using C4NPR’s website and database of currently available resources.
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with updates to and providing content for the C4NPR website, c4npr.org, e-newsletter and social media channels. Uses Google Analytics to evaluate and increase website and social media traffic. 
  • Assists the Director with C4NPR evaluation of programs and services including reporting results to funders and sponsors. 
  • Assists with strategic and day-to-day implementation of programs and services at C4NPR as needed. 
  • Assists with additional research initiatives as it relates to nonprofit capacity building. 
  • Stays abreast of trends in nonprofit capacity building and nonprofit management. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
  • Education:
    Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Experience
    Program planning/event planning experience is required.
    At least two years of successful experience in business, nonprofit operational and financial management or related areas.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with the local nonprofit sector
  • Experience with digital photography and videography a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While this is an office position, the ability to lift small boxes (letter, stock, postcard stock, booklets) is required occasionally.

There will be some travel involved to sessions designed by The Center, as well as to attend conferences.

Full-time position – 37.5 hours/week
