Job Description:

The mission of Josina Lott Residential & Community Services is to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities by providing quality services, safe environments, and opportunities for self-determination and community integration.  We are seeking a contract dietitian (consultant) to join our professional team and help provide a healthy and safe environment for the individuals at Josina Lott Residential & Community Services (JLR&CS). The selected candidate will report to our Director of Nursing.

Hours

The Consultant shall devote not less than two (2) hours or more than three (3) bi-weekly (78 hours maximum annually) during the late afternoon and early evening hours to JLR&CS in providing services and inservice training. 

Qualifications

  • Professional liability and malpractice insurance required
  • Meets requirements as set forth by current standards governing dietitians in long-term care facilities
  • Current license in state of Ohio to practice dietetics as provided by the Ohio Board of Dietetics
  • Completion and maintenance of required continuing education to maintain credentials of a registered dietitian and State of Ohio licensure

Job Functions

  1. Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of implementing our dietary menus.
  2. Implement dietary menus by conferring with the Food Services Manager.
  3. Provide such services as directed by the individual’s Individual Program Plan.
  4. Plan, organize, and direct dietary programs that meet the individual’s needs.
  5. Coordinate such services with the Director of Nursing and nursing services.
  6. Incorporate dietary programs into the individual’s total plan of care.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of our written dietary policies and procedures.
  8. Provide functional and individual assessments as requested by the Director of Nursing.
  9. Develop and participate in inservice/training programs, as requested.
  10. Instruct other personnel and family members in methods of assisting the individual to improve or correct a dietary/eating disorder(s).
  11. Menu planning for IDD population.
  12. Other services as deemed necessary and agreed to.
