Job Title: Coordinator of Housing Services Exempt/Nonexempt: Nonexempt - Part Time (29 Hours per week) Corps, Institution or Department: Bowling Green Service Center Date: February 15, 2018 Reports To: Bowling Green Service Center Director GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB. Coordinate The Salvation Armyís housing services within Wood County for the homeless and at-risk homeless, including case management, rent/mortgage assistance, and connecting individuals to the Wood County Continuum of Care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. 1. Interview homeless and at-risk homeless clients and assess their needs. 2. Analyze and confirm the accuracy of documentation provided by the client and landlord/mortgage company. 3. Confirm that all potential housing is in accordance with city codes. 4. Link the client with community resources and services he or she may need or want, including shelter and mental health services. 5. Based on the clientís needs, provide appropriate referrals to other social service agencies for case management and services 6. As needed, advocate on behalf of the clients, ensuring they receive the services they are entitled to receive. 7. Identify and report all incidents of gaps in service delivery. 8. Collaborate with individuals, groups, local churches, and various social service agencies to better assist in meeting clientís needs. 9. Remain up-to-date on the resources and social service agencies and programs that are available in the community. 10. Provide proper and accurate documentation on case files. 11. Maintain daily and monthly record keeping of clientele and services provided by The Salvation Army for internal and external purposes, including present and future grants. 12. Professionally represent The Salvation Army at meetings. 13. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Bowling Green Service Center Director and/or Area Coordinators. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Service Department. MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. 1. Three or more years of social work/non-profit experience 2. Associates degree in Social Work, with registration as a State of Ohio Social Worker Assistant, a plus SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. 1. Computer and Microsoft literate. 2. Must have the ability to analyze problems, determine solutions, and implement corrective measures. 3. Must have understanding of and appreciation for the mission of The Salvation Army. 4. The ability to demonstrate compassion for those in less fortunate circumstances and be able to make decisions that affect individual lives. 5. Results-oriented, with demonstrated ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization. 6. Collaborative and energetic team player. 7. Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities. 8. Valid driverís license.
