JOB DESCRIPTION: Development Associate

REPORTS TO: President/CEO

Position Overview

 The Toledo Area Humane Society is seeking a full-time development associate. This individual will be responsible for maintaining organizations donor database, assisting with the planning and execution of special events and overseeing and the growth of monthly giving program. We’re looking for a team member with a positive attitude, a passion for our mission, and a love for animals!

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Proficiency with MS Office; especially Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel. Working knowledge of fund raising software a plus
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision, work well under pressure, and have solid problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, with effective organizational skills, including strong time-management, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced and data-driven environment

Responsibilities

This role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the planning and implementation of organizational events, including but not limited to fundraising and adoption events.
  • Maintain donor data-base, track online donations and online registrations
  • Develop and run donor reports as necessary
  • Enter donations into donor database and print thank-you letters
  • Maintain social media platforms, manage annual social media calendar and respond to Facebook communications
  • Design, write, and edit copy for marketing materials including, but not limited to: brochures, thank-you letters, email campaigns and signage
  • Oversee third party events
  • Manage monthly giving, memorial and honorarium programs
  • Promote the activities and image of the Toledo Area Humane Society in the larger community.
