The Erie Shores Council, Boy Scouts of America, has created a new entry-level position as a member of our fundraising team in major gifts, capital campaign, and planned giving operations. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately import and export gift data and other donor-related information into development software database (Blackbaud-CRM) in a timely manner. Prepare and send accurate and appropriate gift acknowledgements in a timely manner.
  • Perform self-auditing to ensure data integrity.
  • Configure and mail acknowledgement letters using Mail function in Development software database.  Meet aggressive deadlines for gift entry and acknowledgement.
  • Export donor files for direct mail vendor on monthly basis; comply with other vendor requests.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation protocols with Finance including monthly credit card report.
  • Run daily audit and daily gift reports.
  • Process credit card donations from call-in donors.
  • Process matching gift and ACH transactions`          
  • Run pledge payment reports and send invoices for overdue pledges.
  • Fulfill donor intentions per memorial gifts.
  • Work with Stewardship to assure proper coding and soft crediting in Blackbaud-CRM software.
  • Assure that returned mail and change of address requests are handled promptly.
  • Ensure coverage of donor phone line and respond to caller inquiries in prompt and professional manner, ensuring donor satisfaction.
  • Run weekly reports for the Director of Development and Assistant Scout Executive.
  • Run queries, reports, and mailing lists as requested.
  • Be cross-functionally trained on all systems used for: direct mail, unsolicited, phone in, walk-in, lockbox donation records, internal donation records, and online donor records.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed including but not limited to mailings, printing envelopes and retrieving files.
  • Maintain donor relations and donor fulfillment through oversight of recognition program including plaque design and production.
  • Support major gift and planned giving activities by conducting online wealth screening and donor profiling.
  • Maintain and manage memorial gift program by educating and cultivating relationships with area funeral homes and hospice.
  • Demonstrate and support the Boy Scouts of America mission, vision and values throughout all professional responsibilities and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requisite Experience

Must have 3+ years of data entry experience working with fundraising software. (Blackbaud preferred)
