Job Description:

Harbor is currently seeking a full-time Psychology Assistant to provide psychological services under the direct supervision of a psychologist including administration, scoring and interpreting psychological tests and writing psychological reports.  Commensurate skills in communication, both written and verbal, documentation and technical skills as evidenced through peer and supervisor review. 

Job Duties:

  • Performs psychological duties under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist consistent with the individual’s training and experience.
  • Demonstrates competency in the evaluation of children and/or adults through the administration scoring and interpretation of psychological tests including but not limited to the WISC-IV, WPPSI-III, WAIS-IV, and MMPI-2.  Assessments may include intellectual functioning, organic screening, behavioral profiles and personality profiles using the appropriate tool for the job.  Bariatric surgery evaluations are also included for adults.
  • In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations established by Harbor.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Attends appropriate meetings and participates in committees as required.
  • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.
Requirements

Psychology Assistant I

  • Minimum Master’s degree in psychology with previous experience/coursework in administration and scoring of tests required.
  • A PhD/PhD candidate in clinical/counseling psychology preferred.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word. 
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.

Psychology Assistant II

  • Minimum of completion of an APA accredited counseling/clinical psychology PhD program including APA accredited internship. 
  • Successful completion of graduate level course work in psychological assessment, intelligence testing, and personality testing. 
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
