Running a Nonprofit

According to Jennifer Laslo Mizrahi of the Mizrahi Family Charitable Trust, “When championing the causes you care about, you have have to ensure that your nonprofit organization is effective, efficient and achieves its goals”.

To achieve those goals there are a number of critical areas The Center for Nonprofit Resources recommends you direct your attention toward. Together with Cathy Allen of Creative Option C, we created a checklist as an on-ramp to help you navigate through these areas and point you toward some of the best resources available to keep you moving in the right direction.

We have specified nine focus areas in our checklist for boards and nonprofit managers. The links below will take you to pages in our Resource Library with articles, templates and information aligned with the checklist to the right.

BG Checklist

The checklist above was designed to help nonprofit organizations assess their organizational capacity against a number of best practices recommended by The Center for Nonprofit Resources. Each organization will need to decide for itself what changes, if any, to make in its governance and management policies and practices based on the self-assessment.
