Job description

We are looking for a Cafe Manager to organize and manage daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service and quality products. Cafe Manager responsibilities include scheduling shifts, monitoring daily expenses and revenues, menu selection, and ordering inventory as needed. To be successful in this role, the Café Manager will have experience in some capacity with individuals with special needs, and experience working in a kitchen environment. You should be available to work during operating hours, including weekends and holidays. We are looking for an essential team member who ensures our customers are highly satisfied with their visit. Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and enhance the lives of individuals with special needs while turning our cafe into a favorite local spot.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing day-to-day operations of the Cafe and retail space
  • Providing best practices for maintaining inventory control
  • Onboarding new employees and train employees on drink and sandwich preparation and proper use of kitchen and other equipment
  • Preparing work schedules for employees
  • Coordinating with vendors and order supplies as needed
  • Adding new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences (for example vegan sandwiches)
  • Advising staff on the best ways to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensuring all Cafe areas are clean, tidy and meet state and local health department requirements
  • Nurturing friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation
  • Being proficient with Point of Sale (POS) transactions, including opening and closing functions
  • Providing marketing via social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Providing quality control of outgoing products and services
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment

Skills

  • Work experience as a Cafe Manager
  • Hands-on experience with professional kitchen and coffee equipment
  • Good math skills
  • Availability to work operating hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage, motivate and hold a team accountable for their work product
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school diploma
  • Successfully complete the Food Safety for Manager’s Certificate (2-day course) within 2 weeks of start date or at the first date available at the training facility

Job Type: Full-time, Part -time

Pay: up to $18.50 based on experience
