Preschool Teacher

First United Methodist Child Learning Center is a non-profit Christian based pre-school and child care center dedicated to providing the best possible environment for a child’s development. The mission of the FUMCLC is to prepare children for lifelong success by providing a high quality childcare experience in a safe, nurturing environment that is positive for children and families. FUMCLC is a 3 star rated Step Up to Quality program. We utilize creative curriculum in our classrooms with a strong focus in STEAM and sensory play.

Duties of a lead teacher include:

• Prepare daily lesson plans which meet Step Up to Quality and Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards.
• Implement Creative Curriculum in the classroom.
• Complete annual classroom assessments and giving input on quality improvement planning.
• Perform developmental screenings on each child.
• Record and maintain records on each child’s growth, development and progress for the purpose of planning and compliance with SUTQ standards and document in each child’s portfolio.
• Meet SUTQ training requirements.
• Help maintain facility in a clean, safe, and satisfactory condition.
• Set up and maintain a well-organized, developmentally appropriate, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
• Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family.
• Use appropriate positive classroom management.
• Must believe in and act in accordance with the program’s mission and vision statements.

Education:

An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or higher is preferred.

Salary: $11.00-$14.50 /hour with provisional annual raises
