Program Assistant

The Program Assistant should be indigenous to the community and possess knowledge of the community’s infrastructure and culture. The hired individual will be required to teach basic nutrition/food safety/thrifty food shopping/food preparation/physical activity (training will be provided), to network with other individuals and agency representatives, to work with others, to recruit participants and to learn nutrition and nutrition-related information as outlined in the project. Classes are taught using standardized curriculum materials based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and will be taught to low-income adults with children and to youth in grades 1 through 12. This position will teach participants in Lucas County.
